Es zeigt den Menschen Lilienthal im Kontext seiner Zeit und Wegbegleiter*innen, allen voran seines j\u00fcngeren Bruders Gustav (1849-1933) als \u201esein zweites Ich&#8221;. Die Ausstellung bettet die Biographien der Br\u00fcder Lilienthal in die uralte Kulturgeschichte des Menschenfluges ein. Zahlreiche Modelle veranschaulichen den Besucher*innen den \u201eTraum vom Fliegen&#8221;. Das Herzst\u00fcck des Museums ist die gro\u00dfe Gleiterhalle mit originalgetreuen Nachbauten der Lilienthal&#8217;schen Flugapparate. Anhand von Experimenten zu den physikalischen Eigenschaften der Luft k\u00f6nnen die Besucher*innen auf den Spuren der Lilienthals das \u201eFliegen erfinden&#8221;. Selbst entwickelte Flugsimulatoren wie das \u201eLilienthal-Cockpit&#8221; vermitteln das Gef\u00fchl vom Fliegen und f\u00fcr die kleinen G\u00e4ste h\u00e4lt das Museum im Aeronauticon am Anklamer Ein Beitrag zur Systematik der Flugtechnik&#8221; ver\u00f6ffentlichte Buch entstand auf der Basis zahlreicher von Otto und seinem Bruder Gustav ausgef\u00fchrter Versuche. Es war als Grundlagenwerk zur Tragfl\u00fcgel-Aerodynamik seiner Zeit weit voraus und daher zun\u00e4chst alles andere als eine Sensation. Lilienthal musste sogar die Druckkosten f\u00fcr die Erstauflage selbst \u00fcbernehmen. Er war damit wohl der erste Flugzeug-Mechaniker der Welt. Beylich war nicht nur Erbauer der Originalapparate sondern auch st\u00e4ndiger Begleiter und Helfer Lilienthals bei dessen Flugversuchen. In den 1920er und -30er Jahren fertigte er Modelle und Nachbauten der Lilienthal&#8217;schen Gleiterkonstruktionen an. So auch das hier gezeigte Modell des sogenannten Nomalsegelapparates im Ma\u00dfstab 1:5, das sich heute im Museum in Anklam befindet. Das Modell tr\u00e4gt die Signatur: \u201eModell Lilienthal. Die Kleindampfmaschine im Otto-Lilienthal-Museum in Anklam ist das weltweit einzig erhaltene Exemplar und konnte 2004 in Australien f\u00fcr das Museum erworben werden.
